This excursion begins after breakfast. Meknes is the most modest of the four imperial cities of Morocco, which makes it different, much more quiet and relaxed than in Fez, Marrakech, and Rabat. Meknes is surrounded by fields, with agricultural products as one of the foundations of the economy of the city. Interestingly, this region produces the largest quantity of wine from Morocco, which is already by itself surprising, since Muslims are forbidden to drink alcohol. Here you can visit the souks, Place el-Hedim Plaza el-Hedim (that the Jamaa el Fna of Marrakech is in Meknes), the Dar Jamai Museum, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, the Medersa mosque. In the afternoon you will return to Fez.
