A tour from Agadir to the desert for 3 days via Erg Chigaga can be an unforgettable experience. Erg Chigaga is one of the largest sand dunes in the Sahara Desert, located in the Zagora region of Morocco.
1 Day: Agadir to Zagora
Your tour begins in Agadir, from where you will depart in the direction of Zagora. On the way you will pass through suggestive landscapes, such as the Atlas Mountains and the Draa Valley, characterized by palm groves and riverside kasbahs. You will arrive in Zagora in the late afternoon, where you will spend the night in a traditional riad.
Day 2: Zagora to Erg Chigaga
After a traditional breakfast, you will start the journey to Erg Chigaga. You will cross the Sahara desert and see the landscape gradually change, as the sand dunes rise. Once in Erg Chigaga, you will have the opportunity to climb the dunes and admire the sunset over the desert. You will stay overnight in a desert camp, where you can enjoy a traditional Berber dinner and spend the night in a nomad tent.
Day 3: Erg Chigaga to Agadir
After a breakfast in the camp, you will bid farewell to Erg Chigaga and begin the journey back to Agadir. On the way, you may make a short stop at Tazenakht, famous for its handcrafted Berber carpets, known as “the gateway to the desert”. In the late afternoon, you will arrive in Agadir, thus concluding your tour.
