Day trip from Marrakech to Imlil

details

65 kilometers from Marrakech, Imlil is the last stage before the ascent of Toubkal and the starting point for many excursions.
After crossing the gorges of Asni, a picturesque village known for its weekly Saturday market, the route continues along a green valley where the mountains, imposing natural bastions, play with colours.
Of the village we recall the ancient kasbah (citadel or fortress) which dominates the valley. Lower down, in the direction of Moulay Brahim, the Kik plateau seems to dig the Atlas down to its most secret meanders, until it joins the Lake of Lalla Takerkoust, a Sunday meeting place for the locals.

Notes :

Departure from Marrakech at 9:00 with private minibuses. Stop in Asni to visit the Saturday souk (depending on the day of the week, visit Moulay Brahim); continue towards Imlil. Possibility to go on the back of a mule, take an hour and a half excursion towards the Kasbah, the waterfalls and on the way back via a village nestled in the hills of Imlil.
Traditional lunch in a typical restaurant, located on the edge of the wadi (valley of river origin); return to Asni, following the kik plateau road where surprising valleys follow one another. Pause on the shores of Lake Lalla Takerkoust before returning to Marrakech at the end of the day.
