The guided tour of the Medina of Marrakech
A visit to Marrakech never ceases to amaze, at every street corner, at any time of day or night. We will take you to appreciate the immense charm of Morocco’s second city. Itinerary:
After breakfast (At 9 am in the morning) we begin the visit of the imperial cities Marrakech through its different Suks (Suk Smata-of the slippers, Suk Haddadine- of the iron manufacturers, Suk Chouari- of the basket makers , Souk Cherratine- where leather is worked, Jewelers’ Souk). From here we will arrive at the Ben Youssef madrasa, the largest and most beautiful Koranic school in the city, close to the homonymous mosque and the Almoravid Koubba and the Marrakech Museum, where we will pay a visit. Then moving to another area of the city we will visit the palace of the Bahia, or of the ”beautiful”, nickname of the favorite, rich residence of the vizier Ba Ahmed, built around 1880, and from here to the Dar Si-Said palace, also splendid residence of the brother of the vizier. Near these two palaces you will be able to see the exterior of the El-Mansour mosque, also known as the mosque of the kasbah, easily recognizable thanks to its minaret with turquoise arabesques. We then continue with a visit to the Saadian tombs, whose garden belonged to the El-Mansour mosque, which house the tombs of the rulers and family members of this dynasty. Return to riad and dinner. After dinner, walk to the large square Jamaa el-Fna where we will find its characteristic street vendors, who guarantee a show continuous. You will meet fortune tellers, snake charmers, musical groups, water carriers, tattoo artists. At the end of the tour return to your hotel.
