Day 1 : Fez – Ifrane- Midelt – Ziz Gorges – Erg Chebbi Merzouga
After a hearty breakfast, we will leave early in the morning. After crossing the Middle Atlas mountain range, we will head towards Ifrane nicknamed the “little Switzerland” so much so that, for a moment, you will not seem to be in Morocco. Through this atypical landscape, we will arrive in the cedar forest of Azrou where we will be able to meet some monkeys. We will continue to Midelt, a beautiful village famous for its sweet apples, and walking among its houses we will stop for lunch. In the afternoon after eating, we will continue towards the desert of Erg Chebbi. Along the way you will be able to admire the beautiful Ziz Gorges with its suggestive valley of palm trees, mountains and ancient Kasbhe. In the evening, arrived in Erg Chebbi, you can enjoy a delicious dinner in a typical riad or in a local Kasbha.
Day 2 : Erg Chebbi – Rissani – Merzouga – nights in tents
Waking up in the desert will show you unforgettable scenery and after breakfast we will have a day full of adventure ahead of us. We will discover the magic that southern Morocco hides, we will ride the dunes and we will have the opportunity to learn about the life of the desert nomads. Having tea with them, visiting their tents, you will be explained their customs and how they live. The desert enjoys multitudes of contrasts and colors that will enrich your heart. We will go to the village of Khamlia to see and hear the Gnawa musicians and we can dance with them. After the party you will visit Rissani, one of the biggest cities near the desert. There we will have lunch and walk in the market (donkey and sheep market, vegetables and fruit, pharmacies). In the afternoon, your caravan of dromedaries will drive you to the high dunes of Erg Chebbi to admire the sunset and to let you get in touch with the real life of the desert. Arrived at the bivouac, a good tea and followed by one of the best tagines in all of Morocco. Don’t stay too long in the tents, outside there are billions of stars waiting for you and a sky that you can’t miss. The camel drivers will entertain you with the sound of their bongos and in a circle around the fire you will listen to their songs and stories. At this point it will be up to you to choose whether to retire to your tent or fall asleep with your eyes full of stars.
Day 3 : Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Gorge the Valley of Roses
Early in the morning the camel driver will accompany you to the dunes to admire the spectacular desert sunrise, before taking you back to the Riad where you can have breakfast, a shower and get ready for departure. With our 4X4 we will reluctantly leave the desert, short visit to Erfoud with its fossil factories. We will return to the mountains to arrive at the Todra Gorges where we will stop for lunch. A walk among the palm trees and we will leave again to reach the Dades gorges. We will have dinner in the Riad and spend the night here.
Day 4 : Dades Gorge – Skoura – Ouarzazate
Recharge your batteries with a good breakfast because a half day of walking in the canyon of the Dades Gorges will be waiting for us. We will have lunch among the palm trees before leaving for Ouarzazate and other landscapes will await us: the dirt road to see the tribe of nomads who live in the quarries and the Valley of Roses on the road of 1000 Kashes. Ouarzazate is a city where you can take pleasant evening walks, relax with a drink in a bar, or buy souvenirs in the stalls. Night in Riad.
Day 5 : Ouarzazate – Kasbah aAit Ben Haddou –-Telouat Kasbha – Marrakech
In Ouarzazate there is the cinema museum. There are many films that have been shot in Morocco: “Marrakech Express”, “The Mummy” and “Babel”. Not far from Ouarzazate we will find one of the most beautiful Kasbhes in all of Morocco: Ait Ben Haddou, a Unesco heritage site that stands on a hill and the view is spectacular. We visit the Kasbha and then leave for Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas mountain range, the pass of Tizi n Tichka. On the way we will admire breathtaking views including the mountain range and its valleys. The cooperatives for the production of Argan oil are famous, the local women will explain the work and show you their products. We will have lunch in one of the many small restaurants on the road and arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon.
