Trekking tour to Toubkal mountain in Morocco which leads to the highest mountain range in North Africa 8 days 7 nights

Day 1 : Airport – Marrakech

Upon arrival at the airport, meet and transfer and hotel accommodation. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 2 : Marrakech – Imi Oughlad – Tizi Oussem

After breakfast transfer by public transport in the direction of Imi Oughlad where the trek in the oak forest begins to reach the Tizi Tacht pass. Packed lunch, dinner and overnight at the refuge.

Trekking: duration 5 hours

Day 3 : Tizi Oussem – Tazaghart

After breakfast departure towards the Handour valley, the trail passes through small villages, irrigation canals and palm oases. Arrival in Irazzoun, dinner and overnight.

Trekking: 6 hours

Day 4 : Tazaghart – Toubkal

Departure in the morning to walk the path that climbs up to 3600 meters from where you can admire the superb view of Mount Toubkal. After reaching the highest point, descend to the Toubkal refuge which is located at 3207 meters above sea level. Packed lunch, dinner and overnight at the refuge.

Day 5 : Toubkal Refuge – Top of Toubkal

With an easy trek you climb the path that leads to the top of Mount Toubkal, which with its 4165 meters of altitude, is the highest peak in North Africa. This summit offers a magnificent panorama of the Siroua mountain and the Imlil valley. Packed lunch, dinner and overnight at the refuge.

The ascent to the top of Toubkal is subject to reconfirmation based on the weather conditions and the level of physical preparation of the participants.

Day 6 : Toubkal Refuge – Sidi Chmaharouch – Armed

In the morning after breakfast along the path that leads to Sidi Chamharouch, we descend to the village of Armed which is located at 1850 meters. Packed lunch, dinner and overnight at the refuge.

Trekking: 3 hours

Day 7 : Armed – Imlil – Marrakech

Departure in the morning to reach the Berber village of Imlil. Upon arrival, after a short rest, the transfer by public transport is planned in the direction of Marrakech. Arrival in the early afternoon and time at leisure. You will have the opportunity to independently discover the city, nicknamed “The Pearl of the South”, founded in the 12th century by the Almoravid dynasty. Morocco’s founders left noteworthy palaces and gardens. Possible visit of the Saadian Tombs, the Menara gardens, the Bahia Palace, the Koutoubia and the Dar Si Said museum. A further possibility is a visit to the souk where with a walk it is possible to “get lost” in the alleys of the city, among an infinite number of local products, scents and colors. Finally visit the famous Djemaa El Fna square, where the show is permanent: snake charmers, fire eaters and artists of all kinds. Free dinner. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 8 : Marrakech

Depending on the schedule of flights, transfer to the airport.
