Excursion to Ouarzazate from Marrakech

details

This long trek takes us across the Great Atlas along an impressive mountain road that winds its way through picturesque valleys and passes numerous Berber villages and semi-precious stone sellers until we arrive at Tizi n’Tichka, the highest mountain port in the Atlas in 2,260 m. In the South, beyond these impressive snow-capped mountains from November to April, a diverse semi-desert landscape emerges, dotted beside the river towards Ouarzazate by kasbahs and small clay and thatched houses which contrast clearly with the emerald green fields from its surroundings. The visit to Ouarzazate, a modern military city built by the French in the borders of the Sahara, includes the former residence of Pacha El Glaui, the kasbah of Taourirt and Ait Benhadu, a very characteristic ancient mountain village declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and famous among filmmakers and Altas studios. Finally, it is therefore one of the most interesting visits.
